12 Oct: The 9 YG-43 01 satellites (60458-60466) and 6 YG-43 02 satellites (60945-60950) appear to have assumed their operational configuration and spacing. Here’s a quick summary.

  • YG-43 01
    • All 9 satellites have remained in the same order (E, D, J, B, A, F, H, C) since 30 Sep 2024.
    • From 25 Aug – 15 Sep the satellites maneuvered independently to reach the desired relative positions. After 15 Sep all 9 satellites appear to be coordinating their maneuvers (see top graph below).
    • The time difference from the YG-43 01 Lead satellite (A) and final Trail8 satellite (E) has remained between 31-32 minutes for the past month (11Sep-28:18, 18Sep-32:06, 25Sep-31:08 and 12Oct-32:00).
    • All 9 satellites maintain SMA values within an average of <0.1km (498.2-498.6km) of one another resulting in minimal changes in their relative positions to one another.
  • YG-43 02
    • All 6 satellites have remained in the same order (A, C, F, B, D, E) since 11 Sep 2024.
    • From 15 Sep – 6 Oct the satellites maneuvered independently to reach the desired relative positions. After 6 Oct all 6 satellites appear to be coordinating their maneuvers (see bottom graph below).
    • The time difference from the YG-43 02 Lead satellite (A) and final Trail8 satellite (E) has remained between 18-19 minutes for the past 2 weeks (11Sep-3:38, 18Sep-5:59, 25Sep-9:41, 30Sep-18:25 and 11Oct-18:28).
    • All 6 satellites maintain SMA values within an average of <0.2km of one another (494.4-495.3km) resulting in minimal changes in their relative positions to one another.
