  • 11 Oct: As noted in the 24 September 2024 Flash, Russia’s LUCH (Olymp)-2 (55841) is now operating in the vicinity of both Intelsat 10-02 (28358) and Thor 6 (36033). Russia maneuvered the satellite westward on 18-19 September 2024. It is now apparent that LUCH-2’s target of interest is Intelsat 10-02 as the Russian spacecraft is now orbiting with a close approach of <10km to Intelsat 10-02. According to the 11 October Palski report the point of closest approach between the two satellites was 6.548 km at 2024-10-12 06:07:44. By comparison, the point of closes approach with Thor 6 was 80.739 km. at 2024-10-11 02:56:25.
